Introducing Truluck’s Reserve Whiskey, Our Exclusive Collaboration with Elijah Craig

Truluck’s Reserve Whiskey is a celebration of bourbon—and available only for a short time.

Sharing the stories behind the products we source is central to the Truluck’s experience. Many of our purveyors have perfected their craft over generations, and their passion and commitment to quality are evident in everything that arrives on your plate—and in your glass.

Our new Truluck’s Reserve single-barrel bourbon is no exception. Aged over nine years and coming in at 132.2 proof, this Truluck’s Reserve bottling from Elijah Craig is truly impressive. There’s nothing that tastes quite like it, and that’s the exclusive, limited edition experience we aim to provide guests with this well-worth-the-wait release.

Elijah Craig, known as the “father of whiskey,” was an innovator. He was the first distiller to age whiskey in charred barrels way back in 1789.

At Truluck’s, we have carried on that tradition, using Elijah Craig 94 whiskey as our standard in our classic Manhattan. Thanks to its higher proof and aging process, Elijah Craig whiskey gives our cocktails a remarkable flavor profile featuring notes of caramel, vanilla and a subtle smokiness from the charred barrels.

So when Elijah Craig approached us about creating a special Truluck’s Reserve from their barrels, we were honored.

Beverage Director, Dave Mattern, got to work tasting all the barrel samples blind, focusing on finding the perfect flavor for our guests.

“There’s something magical about enjoying an original, small-batch whiskey so when the opportunity to provide our guests with a rare whiskey they’ll never forget, we went all-in.”

Dave ultimately hand-selected two barrels of similar age that both came from the same rickhouse, or a structure designed for aging whiskeys. Each rickhouse tends to produce similar styles when aging over a long period, but a lot also depends on the barrel itself.

Unlike blended whiskeys, which achieve a consistent master flavor profile by combining various barrels, a single-barrel whiskey offers a unique expression, rich in intriguing tasting notes.

Truluck’s Reserve is the Elijah Craig 94 proof. It’s a genuine bourbon for whiskey drinkers. Remarkably smooth for a proof that high (132.2) the flavors explode on the palate, leading with spice galore and a naturally sweet oakiness, followed by an incredibly long finish with notes of dried fruit, pepper, hazelnuts, and chocolate.

It’s available now in our Single-Barrel Manhattan and our Single-Barrel Old Fashioned, and it pairs beautifully with our prime steaks and sesame-seared tuna.
