Enjoy Dry January the Truluck’s Way
Whether you’re sipping mocktails or dry spirits, Truluck’s is at your service this Dry January.
Ah, Dry January.
Every year, January marks the hopeful start to a new year. For some, it’s also a time to dial back the excesses of the festive season and press pause on drinking alcohol to start the year on a clearer, refreshed note. Dubbed Dry January, as many as a quarter of Americans say they participated in an alcohol-free January in 2024.
At Truluck’s, our robust bar, wine and cocktail menu has options for every palate—spiked, spirited or zero-proof. So, whether you are sipping on specialty-crafted, zero-proof mocktail or searching for the next great “dry” libation, Truluck’s unmatched spirits menu has a Dry January offering for you.
Zero-Proof Mocktails to Try
If you’re skipping out on buzzy beverages this January, try some of these zero-proof favorites from Beverage Director Dave Mattern.
Blackberry Bramble
“The inspiration for the Blackberry Bramble came from one of our most iconic cocktails, the Spicy Blackberry Margarita,” Mattern says. “In this zero-proof drink, just like in the cocktail, we use a house-made habanero lime syrup that brings an amazing ‘I-need-another-sip’ flavor.”
With flavors dialed up, Mattern suggests pairing the Blackberry Bramble with the Redfish Ponchartrain to meet spice with spice.
Berry Patch
The Strawberry Patch is the latest in line of Truluck’s fabulous cocktails that hit on the sweeter side. This zero-proof drink has muddled strawberries, almond rosewater syrup and coconut soda, making it a full-bodied, satisfying drink.
“Berry Patch goes great with crab, particularly King Crab, as the brininess plays a delicious counterpoint to the refreshing fruitiness of the drink,” Mattern says.
The Dry You Must Try
At Truluck’s, there’s another way to put the “Dry” in Dry January, and that’s by reveling in dry wines and spirits. Delicious and sophisticated, dry beverages all come down to balance. Truluck’s robust wine and cocktail menu has a few dry options that rise to the top.
If you like red wine… Try a Bordeaux such as Chateau de la Coste Margaux paired with an amazing prime steak. “You will be happy you went this route for dry January,” Mattern says.
If you prefer white wine… Consider a stellar dry white like Domaine Sigalas, an Assyrtiko from Santorini, Greece, with our Stone Crab claws, and you will drive the winter blues away.
If you’re popping bubbly… Drinking a wonderful dry Champagne such as Bollinger Special Cuvée with our signature caviars makes for a decadent treat. You deserve it!
If martinis are more your thing… A dry martini is always fabulous, but with Truluck’s specialty caviar, you can have a frozen bottle of Beluga Gold Vodka poured tableside into a frozen glass. “There is no finer way to enjoy caviar!”
